Experience with BBa_K587008

Crx-st is a sequence that has the capability to form a loop and prevent the expression of genes downstream the RBS (which is complementary to Crx-st). We designed it based on the article by Isaacs et al. (2004). The article explains that there was an effective repression by the formation of an RNA secondary structure that sequesters the ribosome binding site. With the assumption that this mechanism works, yet we did not have the opportunity to test the whole construct part by part, hence we cannot prove that Crx-st is as effective as expected. Transformed bacteria grew in selective media showing a successful transformation, but no further tests have been performed up to the moment.
